PROCEDURES OF TEACHING

I have a lot of questions in my mind, knowing that my students didn’t understand me in the first place, I only understand little bahasa and they also knew little and basic English, though my teacher can spoke English well but still it was so challenging to my part.

            During the days that my teacher give me the book from 1-6 grade level, to start my lesson for the next day, it’s quite challenging because she just only give me the book without any further instruction, so I asked my coordinator and approached her most of the time, to ask what topic would I discussed to my students and she set all the topics and schedule that I might been discussed good for one week. I was really thankful and grateful that God give me strength to pursue all my dreams even if there’s a lot of struggle ways, in preparing all of my lesson.

            The first thing that I do was, I study and look the topic or the lesson on the book, then I innate what the lesson all about and what are my actions, and preparations to take. Then after it, I asked my cooperating teacher if I used their lesson plan or I used my way in writing it, but she told me that I have a free well to do the ways in creating my lesson plan, so I used the detailed lesson plan. I create in advanced, my lesson plan good for one week, so that my cooperating teacher will be able to checked it for further feedback and suggestions, after checking that’s the time that I prepared all my instructional materials to be used in my class discussion(video clips, visual aids, power point presentation and etc.) Since from the fact that my students can understand little English, I’ll do an extra mile to translate my instruction, my discussion in bahasa and my students appreciate it.

            After preparing the lesson plan and the instructional materials, all I do was to follow what I’ve been written in my lesson plan, the sequencing of the steps before proceeding to the new topic and lesson proper and do my best to transmit the information in the best ways that I can, I used hand gestures in my discussion to further understanding in my discussion.

            Next, I’ll prepare a minimum 3 activities and maximum of 5 activities per lesson, to evaluate if they learned something, after answering the activities, I’ll check it, together with my students.

            Then sum up all the important details in the lesson and do the closing.
